Larkspur - Best of Marin 2010

Pacific Sun

"Several sterling events at the Left Bank Brasserie last year helped lift the restaurant to a repeat Best of Marin win. Chef de cuisine Sean Canavan and general manager Jennifer Courtney developed a "Head-to-Tail" dinner using a goat - every part of the animal - and repeated their success with a wild game dinner. April 6 the restaurant features a suckling pig head-to-tail event. "We've also developed more of a farm-to-table aspect," says Canavan. "I'm constantly at the famers market," keeping his finder on the pulse of the season.

He's also cultivated a relationship with Fallon Hills Ranch to raise accord-fed hogs, grass fed beef and rabbits just for the Left Bank menu. Canavan grew up in Germany, so the Franco-German-Friendship dinners are a natural fit for his house-made sausage and special events, the restaurant serves up extraordinary French fare in a splendid setting day and day out. Check out the website for a look at the menu, a list of events coming and, naturally, instructions for saying "I love you" in French."
