Alisa Jenkins
Director of Training and Human Resources
I started my restaurant career at the ripe old age of 15 working as a food server for my neighbors who owned a Greek restaurant in Carlsbad. I quickly began to realize how much I enjoyed interacting with people in a food service environment. Inevitably I soon moved on to higher caliber restaurants where I assumed more responsibility and was respected for my product knowledge and my intrinsic desire to create the ultimate dining experience. I have been a trainer, an event coordinator, a manager and a General Manager. I do believe I am much more effective in my current role because I have walked in the shoes of those team members who are in the trenches every day.
I am a devoted foodie and I can often be found at the local farmer’s market or attending some innovative culinary event in the city. If I am not out trying a new eatery I am in the kitchen playing with new recipes and cooking for my friends. Fitting that this is the career path I have chosen as my Grandmother did not understand why I was so interested in wanting to know when the next meal was going to be served and what it was going to be.
I was brought on board as the General Manager for the Larkspur Brasserie in 2004 and segued to a new position as Director of Training and Development in early 2007. Since then I have taken over the role as Human Resource Director in an effort to provide continued support to our management and hourly associates.
My heart still lies in the operations and I always enjoy working the shift with my team. It provides me the opportunity to listen, interact and offer guidance when needed. I believe with clear-positive communication, and the relentless pursuit of embracing our values we will achieve our goals.
Originally from San Diego I enjoy cooking, trail running, hula dancing, Japanese bookbinding and maintaining an active healthy lifestyle.
